Welcome to my privat practice.
How are you ? Are you okay ? Really okay?
We hear this same question several times a day . BUT how many times do we answer with honesty ?
How many of our answers to the question " how are you ? " are the same ?
It feels like the majority of us give the same rehearsed answer. “I’m fine thanks” or “Not bad thank you”
The question has become a greeting, the plus one to “Hello”, and hand in hand with this, the answer has lost all meaning.
I think it’s about time that, “How are you?” regained its status as a question and a question with meaning. How much less isolating it would be to tell people how you are honestly. To feel as though it is acceptable to talk about your wellbeing and mental health on a day-to-day basis, regardless of whether you have a mental illness or not – we all have mental health and we all have good days and bad days.
It could save lives if we could answer ”how are you?” honestly. If we felt able to say, “Actually, I’m not okay” it would make such a difference.
“Mental health is a matter of concern for everyone, and not just for those affected by a mental disorder ."
The World Health Organization,2004
Just as if we were suffering from a physical illness, a mental health condition can make it difficult or even impossible for us to lead normal lives. It can impact our productivity and performance at work, our relationships with others and our own sense of self.
Mental health is as important as our physical health, it can sometimes be difficult for us to rate it when we evaluate ourselves. We could even be threatening our mental health with our day-to-day habits without realizing it.

Therapeutic Consultation
Embarking on the journey of therapy can be a transformative experience. Whether you're feeling uncertain about what's troubling you or have specific issues you wish to address, therapy offers a supportive space for exploration and healing. For your first few sessions, expect to experience a nonjudgmental, caring, and safe setting to set the foundation for future work towards your treatment goals.
Couples Consultation
Couples therapy can help increase understanding, respect, affection, and intimacy between you and your partner, which can help you be happier together.
Couples therapy can address a wide range of relationship issues, including recurring conflicts, feelings of disconnection, an affair, issues related to sex, or difficulties due to external stressors. Benefits of couples therapy include reduced relationship distress and increased relationship satisfaction.
Couples therapy ideally requires participation from you and your partner. However, if your partner is not open to it, you can also opt to do couples therapy alone, to better understand your relationship and how you can improve it.
If you and your partner undertake it together, you may find that one or both of you also need separate therapy sessions to help deal with the issues brought up in couples therapy.
Children/Adolescents Consultation
The therapeutic session for children and adolescents involves therapeutic conversations and interactions between a therapist and a child or family. It can help children and families understand and resolve problems, modify behavior, and make positive changes in their lives. There are different approaches, techniques, and interventions.
Childhood, adolescence and young adulthood are critical stages of life for mental health and well-being, when people develop skills in self-control, social interaction and learning. Negative experiences – at home due to family conflict or at school due to bullying, for example – have a damaging effect on the development of these core cognitive and emotional skills.Childhood and adolescence provide a unique window of opportunity to support mental health. Mental health care and support are most effective when received early; hence intervening during this period can treat and prevent mental health difficulties.
